MSN.com is reporting that Bristol Palin’s boyfriend, Levi Johnston, will join the Palin family in Minnesota at the Republican National Convention.  OK, do these politicians really think that the American people are going to buy this cheap move to make the family seem “unified” over their daughter’s teen pregnancy?! 

Gee, I wonder if Bristol will suddenly begin sporting an engagement ring, since the families are now acting as if the soon-to-be-teen-parents already had plans to marry?  And if so, will Levi and Bristol get to share hotel rooms at the convention???

Levi’s mom, Sherry Johnston, recently told reporters that the two teens already planned to marry one another- even before Bristol became preggers.  Yeah, and I planned to marry my 12th grade boyfriend too.  Right after I also married Prince, Michael Jackson, and the entire cast of “The Outsiders.”  And I’m a little confused about the couple’s plans to marry, since media sources got a hold of Levi’s MySpace profile, in which he clearly states, “I don’t want to be a father.”  Hmmm, perhaps the Palin’s vetting of Levi as their future son-in-law was a little hasty?

So please, Mrs. Palin and Mr. McCain, don’t insult us by pretending that the Palins are one big excited family when it comes to their unwed teen daughter’s pregnancy.  Your attempts to fool us by having Bristol “hide” her pregnancy by strategically holding her baby brother over her bulging stomach during her mom’s press conference last week didn’t work and this won’t either.  We’re clearly much smarter than you seem to think.  Give us a little credit, and in the meantime, let Levi stay at home in Alaska instead of flying this kid out to the convention.  We’re sure the self-professed “f…cking redneck” (his MySpace words, not ours!) would rather spend this week engaging in his favorite activities- snowboarding and dirt biking, and spending time with his “true love” — ice hockey. 

Awww, Sarah, and you wanted us to believe his true love was Bristol!
