Hanging Effigy Of Obama Found On University Of Kentuck Campus!
Here we go. Frankly, we’ve been surprised that things like this have not surfaced until now, but the Associated Press is reporting that an effigy of Presidential hopeful Barack Obama was found hanging from a tree on the campus of the University of Kentucky Wednesday morning. The offensive figure was immediately taken down and the college president has announced plans to apologize directly to the Obama family, for what he calls a “disgusting episode” on the campus.
Yesterday, we reported that a couple in West Hollywood was drawing criticism for its “Halloween decorations,” which depict a mannequin dressed as Sarah Palin hanging from a noose. And earlier this week, an effigy of Barack Obama was also found hanging from a tree on the campus of the George Fox University in Oregon. Four students have admitted to their involvement in that case, and are being disciplined.
How sad and DISGUSTING is this?! In this day and age, surely we can come up with better ways to express our dislike for or disagreement with a person’s politics other than reverting to such racist and threatening gestures. Nooses, hanging effigies, and racial stereotypes have no place in today’s world. Come on people, show some intelligence and some class!!
