HIV/AIDS Is Not Just An African Epidemic-Global View (video)
African American women and men: In the United States, AIDS is the leading cause of death among black women aged between 25 and 34. Along with young gay men of color, heterosexual African American women take a hard hit in cases of people infected with HIV. No longer can HIV/AIDS be considered strictly a gay mans disease. Dante Higgins looks at the numbers and explores how the community and the black church is responding to this crisis. Watch now:

CHINA-It’s the biggest movement of people in history. According to official estimates some 200 million people in China are migrant workers that is about 15 per cent of the country’s population. And what is more they are amongst the most vulnerable to contracting HIV/AIDS.
MEET STEVE:Steve was diagnosed with HIV in 1994. He contracted the Virus in 1993 in Brazil from a woman (sexually) who didn’t know she was infected. By the time Steve tracked her down, in the mid 90’s, she had alreday passed away – of AIDS.
“It was something that belonged to the gay scene and junkies,is what I thought back then. I didn’t know I was at risk” says Steve.
Steve has written a play in ‘94 about living with HIV and has given many talks at universities and schools in the 90’s.
Making this video is a way to contribute to the battle against HIV/AIDS. Unfortunately he is unable to work ,due to his health. Steve: “My guts controle my body, but don’t control my spirit. I am an infection that will cost the Virus a lot of energy to kill. I’ll fight it in the winters, through coughs, colds and the flus…. I’ll fight it in the bad times – and the good… I will NEVER surrender to HIV”.
