A couple in New Jersey say they were shocked and hurt when their local grocery store refused to decorate their son’s birthday cake with his name.  Why the refusal by the grocery store?  Turns out the son’s name is Adolph Hitler!  Little 3 year old Adolph is one of the family’s three children, each named to reflect the family’s pride in Nazi history.  According to the couple, a Holland Township, NJ ShopRite refused to decorate a birthday cake for their son with the wording, “Happy Birthday, Adolph Hitler.”

The father of the boy, Heath Campbell, claims to be a relative of a member of Hitler’s Schutzstaffel, denies the Holocaust, wears boots supposedly worn by a Nazi soldier, and decorates his house with swastikas.  And though he does not believe in the mixing of races, he and his wife deny that they are racists.  Campbell told the Easton Express-Times, “They’re just names, you know. Yeah, they (the Nazis) were bad people back then. But my kids are little. They’re not going to grow up like that.”

Campbell has expressed confusion over the public’s reaction to his kids’ names (his other two children are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie), saying, “Other kids get their cake. I get a hard time. It’s not fair to my children. How can a name be offensive?”

Wow, is this dude serious?!
