Oprah Says No To Palin Interview…For Now
Rumors that Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will appear on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” have been denied by Oprah and her team. Though Oprah has said that she believes interviewing Palin would be “fantastic,” she has no plans of interviewing the Alaska Governor and White House hopeful until after the November elections. Oprah called the rumor that Palin might appear on her show any time soon “categorically untrue.”
Of a possible Palin interview, the TV icon told Entertainment Tonight, “There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show…At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.”
Though Oprah has not been quiet about her support of Democratic candidate Barack Obama, and has had him on the show twice, both interviews took place before he threw his hat in the ring for the presidential race. Oprah was recently spotted in the stands of Mile High Stadium in Colorado, where she was brought to tears while watching Obama accept his party’s nomination for President in front of thousands of supporters at the packed stadium during the Democratic National Convention.
