Racial Slur On Black Man’s Receipt From Journeys
I didn’t get a chance to report this but I HAD to put this up today. A man in Kansas City went into a Journeys store to purchase shoes. When he returned them, he realized the words “Customer:DUMB NIGGER” was printed on his receipt. Now, I normally would not have typed the “N Word” (as we now refer to it) out on this site, but I need to make a point. How offensive! You take the customer’s money and in the process, insult him?
I have been inside Journeys and really think the store is cute for the youth market but I can’t support an
establishment that employs ignorance and intolerance.
What’s even more deplorable is that the corporate communications department for Journeys’ headquarter has NOT issued a statement. Isn’t that what you do for damage control?
The store owner has since fired that employee and issued this statement:
“While we are continuing to investigate this incident, it now appears that an employee in one of our stores entered highly inappropriate statements in a form used to process a merchandise return. Needless to say, such an act was not authorized by Journeys, and will not be tolerated. This employee has been terminated. “At Journeys, we pride ourselves on valuing and respecting every customer. We are shocked and sickened that a former associate could be responsible for an act so out of keeping with our culture and our values. We profoundly regret this incident.”
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man found a racial slur printed on his receipt after returning a pair of shoes he bought over the weekend.
KMBC’s Marcus Moore reported that Keith Slater, 22, bought a pair of shoes from a store called Journeys. Slater later returned them after finding a cheaper pair at another store. Slater did get his money back, but it was what was printed on the receipt that he and his family found disturbing.”That makes me upset. I don’t want to look at that (receipt,) that makes me so upset. WOW!!!! The racism in America is really showing their true colors!!! I saw a dollar bill with Sen. Barack Obama on it with his head attached to a donkey with a watermelon, kool aid, a bucket of chicken, and a half slab of ribs on a 5 dollar food stamp. It makes me ashamed to be American those white racist are making these horrible comments, those people try to make blacks look ignorant and stupid but who are really the STUPID, IGNORANT PEOPLE.
