Fashion critic extraordinaire , Tim Gunn of Bravo’s Project Runway, recently weighed in on the ‘08 elections.  But in true Tim Gunn style, his commentary was on fashion rather than foreign affairs. 

Gunn told US magazine that he approves of Michelle Obama’s fashion sense, saying, “She epitomizes class and American style…She looks approachable.”  However, he is apparently not casting his vote for Cindy McCain, suggesting that McCain’s better half could use a little help.  Gunn told US reporters that “Cindy…with her button down suits and blouses–looks like she’s duct-taped.  Her fashion is a metaphor for her personality.”  Admit it– Democrat or Republican–you’ve gotta love Tim’s one-liners!  

Personally I agree with Tim– Cindy is a pretty lady, but is a bit stuffy in her appearance.  Plus she’s got a bad case of Helmet Hair.  Michelle, on the other hand, has come a LONG way in a short time, and is now looking impeccable! Kudos to her styling team for keeping her simultaneously classy, yet fashionable.  Michelle wears the clothes that many of us could envision ourselves wearing, which makes her seem more “real.”  But Cindy always looks as though she’s headed to lunch at the country club with Mitzy and Buffy.  Or on her way to teach an etiquette class.
