Eyebrow Shaping Tips from an Eyebrow Guru
We all know how much better we look when our eyebrows are shaped, so here are some helpful tips from a renowned eyebrow guru.
Laura Sabessar has worked with a variety of clients from working professionals, celebrities, models, and cancer patients. Laura has gained a excellent reputation as a brow expert, and Daily Candy has coined her a “New York brow guru.” (Read the Daily Candy article here).
When Laura sculpts brows, she uses a wax and tweezing technique. She is gentle and she knows how to create the best shape for your face. While consulting with clients, she asks if the client is using any skin medication; if the answer is yes, then she rules out waxing.
According to Laura, “Your eyebrows are important because they balance your face, and if your eyebrows are well shaped, your makeup is complete.”
Here are some eyebrow tips from Laura:
1) Before you begin to shape your brows, find your natural brow line and work with it. Your brow should be an unbroken like of hair. Use it to establish an outline.
2) If you have a fuller figure, are tall, or young and wear little makeup, it best to avoid a thin-lined eyebrow. If you are petite, stay away from heavy brows.
3) Be sure not to remove too much hair between your eyes. It will make your eyes look unnaturally big.
4) If you are older, shorten your brow a bit. Long-lined brows can cause a droopy eye effect.
5) Fill in over-tweezed brows with a little powder.
6) If you have ingrown hairs, visit your dermatologist.
7) To achieve a subtle, even toned look on your face, color your brows. Blondes with a darker brow should lighten their brow.
8 ) If you’re a blonde with eyebrows that disappear, you should darken your brows.
9) For the best results in shaping your eyebrows, visit a professional first.
